Our Final Act

On August 1, 2025 the theater becomes part of The University of Redlands. Our 501c3 known as The Playhouse in San Anselmo is in our final act. The theater will continue as a rental venue and our tenants are already settling in to their new arrangements with the new management. So while our show is ending, another has already begun rehearsal.

To all our supporters and donors over the years: thank you so much. Your support has kept this venerable space up and running for countless community theater productions. Over the years we have kept up with theatrical systems and improvements and its all because of your support as a community.

In the meantime we are working our way through our archives and would like to share some of our history.

We will sure miss all of you

For those of you who were with us an era ago, this is George Barcos working concession in our theater Lobby before we were able to secure funding to remodel. That remodel created the newer bathroom facility for the Ladies and a concession space as well as some much needed behind the scenes facility upgrades. Who remembers when the refrigerator was in the lobby!
