Updated: Oct 27, 2020

The following post includes all COVID-19 Updates thru March 12, 2020

March 12, 2020:

California and Marin County continue to release updates to the Covid-19 advisories. As of today we are aware of several upcoming productions scheduled for the theater that are expecting to postpone until further notice. Before coming to the theater box office, please check in with your production company for an update. Refer to our Calendar for additional contact information for the show you are ticketed to see. The Playhouse is a rental venue and all box office and production updates will come from the specific theater company in residency. If you are unsure of how to contact your production please email us and we will do what we can to assist you. info@playhousesananselmo.org We are all in uncertain times with uncertain outcomes. Be safe. — manager

March 10, 2020:

The latest press release from the Marin County HHS continues to recommend and not mandate that public gatherings be limited to 100 according to covid press release 3/9/20. We continue to defer to the wishes of our rental tenants regarding the upcoming show that opens this Friday on March 13.

We are encouraging our tenant to seat audience with separation between seating as is recommended by other communities and to wipe down between shows with bleach wipes. Following the 100 person guideline, our tenant will keep separate the backstage cast and crew from the general audience during production.

We are adding tissue and sanitizer to our public spaces and wiping down our public areas such as lobby counters, door handles and break facilities.

As of this update, our tenant has not cancelled performances.

March 9, 2020:

The Playhouse in San Anselmo operates as a rental venue. We have not been asked as of this time to close our doors or to limit audiences or usage. Our tenants are currently discussing their options and will inform their ticket holders as things change over the next several days. We will do our best to update our calendar with information helpful to ticket holders

Our current information is based on this press release from the official marin health and human services website https://www.marinhhs.org/coronavirus

The recommendation in the press release reads

While Marin HHS is not issuing cancellations of large gatherings at this time, it is recommending that older adults and those with conditions that may weaken their immune system consider refraining from attending large gatherings of 100 or more people.
