Board of Directors
Marilyn Izdebski, President
Marilyn, a well-known Ross Valley and Marin community member for her many theater productions and dance classes, is a founding member of The Playhouse. She is the prior owner of Marilyn Izdebski’s Productions and has brought her students into our performing space for over 25 years. Marilyn’s contributions to the theater include many fundraisers, recruiting many of the dedicated board members and tirelessly keeping the theater space open and available to the public through much of its history. Marilyn is also currently serving on the board of Novato Theater Company.
Tori Housh VP, General Manager
Tori is one of the founding members of the Playhouse In San Anselmo. She joined the Playhouse during its tenure as a committee under the umbrella of the Ross Valley Community for Schools Foundation (currently known as YES) and was part of the team that put together the Not For Profit Corporation so that the Playhouse could stand on its own. Tori is known in the community for her volunteer roles in the student theater program, YES Theater, and as the producer of YES Benefit Theater, which produced plays from 1982 to 2002. She has also received a golden bell award from RVSD. Tori currently resides in San Anselmo with her husband and has retired from all volunteer life except for the Playhouse where she is currently filling the role of General Manager and Board Vice President.
Jennifer Boynton, Treasurer
After growing up in the Playhouse, performing and providing tech for YES Theater and other companies, Jenny co-founded Marin Musical Theatre Company of which she is now artistic director and vice president. She earned her BA in Music from Dominican College and joined the Playhouse Board in 2015.
China Tamblyn, Secretary
China is an artist, musician and producer. She grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from San Francisco State with a B.F.A. in Sculpture. She came to the Playhouse in 2006 through her children’s participation in Stapleton Ballet and the YES Theater Program. She was a volunteer and Theater Chair for YES and then became Managing Director of the YES Theater program for 7 years. She is currently making art and producing live stream productions at her studio in San Francisco, Light Rail Studios. She joined the board in 2016.
David Prothero, Board Member
David is a Technical Director for corporate meetings, events, trade shows, exhibits, theme park attractions, and theater productions. He was introduced to the Playhouse as a Designer and Set Builder for several productions. In 2010 he increased his commitment to the Playhouse by joining the board. David currently provides technical advice, and support to the operational arm of the theater.
George Barcos, Board Member
George is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and received his BA degree in Theatre Arts from San Jose State University. He has been employed in every aspect of technical theater from stage technician to technical director, designer and even occasional actor. George became the General Manager of The Playhouse in 2000 and retired from that role in 2018. He is a resident of San Rafael along with his wife Kathryn.
Marty Edelson, Board Member
Martha J. Edelson (Marty)
Marty joined The Playhouse Board in 2000 shortly after her daughter began her many years
of musical theatre workshops and dance recitals with Marilyn Izdebski Productions (MIP).She worked as a Volunteer/Coordinator with MIP for about 20 years as well as
performed. Marty feels that The Playhouse is a
wonderful “home” for the arts, her family, and the community. She has mainly served on the
Board as a Fundraising Co-Chair and Committee Member. Marty has worked as a Speech-
Language Pathologist for over 45 years. She loves working with children and their families
and specializes in helping children who have language and learning disabilities and
dyslexia. Her primary focus involves oral and written language skills including reading,
writing, and spelling. Marty and her husband love being with family and friends which is
happening via Zoom these days.

Liza Ingrasci, Board Member
Liza is the President and CEO of the Hoffman Institute Foundation. She received her BA in Developmental Psychology from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1974. Throughout her career, she has held executive positions in national seminar companies with responsibilities for both enrollment and alumni participation. She has been with the Hoffman Institute since 1990.

Alexis Duermeyer
Board Member
Alexis Duermeyer joined the Playhouse board of directors in 2023. She is no newcomer however. Her experience as a student here and later as a theater company director makes her a perfect fit for our board.

Gigi Desin-Phillips
Emeritus
Gigi was a Playhouse Board member from 2014 to 2022. Her passion for the Playhouse is because of the platform it gave to both her daughter, Daisy and husband, Gene. She spent many days and evenings supporting their efforts whether performing in YES programs, Marilyn Izdebski Productions, Stapleton Theater Company productions, etc. At the Playhouse many lifelong relationships blossomed. Retired from her 40 year professional career in Finance, Marketing & Operations,. Gigi is a native of San Francisco/Marin. She and her husband are residents of San Anselmo. Her daughter graduated in 2019 from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City with a degree in Theater Production and Management.
Aaron Yoffe, Theater Tech
Aaron enjoys his technical role with The Playhouse. He discovered his love for theater and the Playhouse only recently, but ever since has dedicated himself to providing technical theater assistance to the theater and to several of our tenants, including Stapleton and MMTC. Aaron was a board member from 2017 to 2020. He is our resident lighting and sound engineer expert and provides us with much needed on site assistance for everything theater tech as well as acting theater manager when the General Manager is not available.
